OUR HISTORY
Klones to date
Klones were formed in 2009 and are one of Scotlands longest established function bands. We are primarily an Edinburgh/East Lothian based band whose line-up boasts three music graduates, a former EMI signed recording artist and an Playwright Studio Scotland award winner 2016/17.
As you can imagine we’ve played many great gigs over the years for all different types of customers ranging from individuals, venues, engaged couples to Blue Chip companies such as the Standard Life. We’ve even played themed parties for the armed forces and in many prestigious places along the way including: The Balmoral, Royal Botanical Gardens, Dalmahoy, The Hub, The Scotsman to name just a few.
In 2016 we successfully auditioned to be one of the resident bands at The Jam House Edinburgh and have been playing there regularly ever since. In the same year we managed to beat competition from many other local bands after a huge public appeal to be selected by Forth 1 Radio as an official artist to play their summer music festival for Boogie In The Morning.

In 2017 we supported 70's soulster's and multi-platinum selling artists ‘The Real Thing’ at The Jam House. In 2018 Klones are set to play their largest ever music event having been booked to headline the opening night of the Harley Davidson festival Thunder In The Glens. This was headlined in 2017 by Les McKeown Bay City Rollers and is the largest HOG rally in Europe bringing over 10,000 people to the Aviemore area. We pride ourselves on having the right mix of experience and youth to deliver something special to any event. We play without backing tracks to guarantee a highly charged performance, packed dance floor and enjoyable evening that won't be forgotten. But don’t take our word for it, read what respected music venue PJ Molloys in Dunfermline had to say about us in the early years: "These guys are quite possibly the best covers band in Scotland right now. Rest assured if you do book us you will receive the best value entertainment package on the circuit today. Live music, karaoke and a professional DJ / MC all in one competitively priced package. In terms of traditional music we provide an hour-long ceilidh set when booked as a five-piece band or a short ceilidh using pre-recorded music when booked as a four-piece band. The choice is yours! We also offer acoustic three-piece sets, stand alone karaoke / discos and an instrumental guitarist service for during the day at events such as weddings as an alternative to the more traditional harpist. Our price includes our PA, a modular system that can provide 5k for large halls or be stripped to a smaller 1200w for smaller venues, as well as our intelligent disco lighting. You also have the option to plug your own iPod into our sound system for during breaks if you prefer. We only use the very best instruments and backline having invested heavily over the years. Klones are fully insured and have up to date PAT testing certificates that are available on request.
We strive to deliver an excellent and friendly service from initial booking to working with our clients on the night. Our performance standards are high so if you require us to learn any specific songs such as a first dance then no problem, just give us at least 4 weeks notice so we can get it perfect for you.
